Bonfire Night

Bonfire and Fireworks Night:  Saturday 29th October 2022

Bonfire Night is back for 2022. It will be a week early this year due to very high tides on November 5th/6th.

In November, come and enjoy a wonderful firework display. There are stalls with soup, burgers and goodies. This is a great family event, fun for everyone.

The actual date each year is determined by the tides. The bonfire on Shaldon Beach is usually lit at 6.30pm and the firework display from The Point begins around 7.15pm.

You can make a donation towards the cost of this event here.

Important information from the organisers :-

Teignmouth and Shaldon Bonfire and Fireworks – Saturday 29th October

Just a few more days to go, and it’s going to be a brilliant and very popular event, so to help avoid traffic congestion, please use public transport to travel to us if at all possible. Please note that the Teignmouth to Shaldon Ferry will be running all evening. There is free parking available at Morrisons in Broadmeadow if you do need to use the car, so we would urge you to park there and walk across the Bridge. The Ness car park in Shaldon will be open but we anticipate that it will fill up quickly and will then be closed to additional cars.

Please remember that, to keep everyone safe at this very popular family event and to ensure access for emergency vehicles, there will be extensive road closures in place around the centre of Shaldon from 4pm to approximately 8.30/9pm on the 30th October. Manned road blocks will be in place at the junctions of Riverside with Bridge Road and Fore Street with Bridge Road. Horse Lane will be closed from Marine Parade to Broadlands. Marine Parade and The Strand will be traffic free from 4pm and a no parking restriction will be in force. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to local residents and suggest that residents speak to the marshals manning the road blocks on the day if they have any questions. The marshals will of course endeavour to help residents who need access to their houses as much as possible, but everyone’s safety must be their primary concern.

Pets
Please be aware that the fireworks will be set off for approximately 10/15 minutes starting at 7.15pm and take any measures necessary to keep your pets indoors and safe during that time.

The volunteers organising this much-loved family event thank you very much for your help and cooperation.
