The Ness is a busy restaurant/bar in the perfect location,  also boasting  9 fabulous letting rooms. Sitting on the edge of the Teign Estuary the stunning views reach up the river one way and out to sea the other. A few moments walk from the beach, Smugglers tunnel and Shaldon Wildlife Trust, with a short stroll into the village of Shaldon and the Ferry across to Teignmouth.

The Manor House was built in 1810 as the summer house of Lord Clifford. The house may have been changed into a hotel but the traditional features, open fireplace, oak floors still remain yet  complemented by some modern nautical designs. Clifford also built the Smugglers Tunnel ( which is still open today) to allow private access for his family on to Ness Beach, but allegedly really being use to smuggle contraband up from the private beach.

Situated right on the south west coastal path, we are super dog friendly. Well behaved pooches are welcome in the bar area and music room for dining, you can even buy doggy Ice cream!

There are also two dog friendly rooms so you don’t have to leave them at home. If you want to learn more about our accommodation see our entry under Stay.
