Ugbrooke House is a hidden treasure set in a romantic valley near Shaldon, Devon. The castellated Manor House sits foursquare and strong in the centre of the Capability Brown Parkland. Remodelled by Robert Adam in the 1760s, the house has a magnificently restored interior. Highlights include the fabulous Norfolk Room with its 18th Century embroideries; a rare family collection of Military memorabilia; and the stunning Catholic Chapel.

There are lakeside walks as well as formal gardens including a maze, fernery and lavender parterre. Delicious cream teas and light lunches are served in the Orangery overlooking the tranquil lavender and rose garden.
